I believe all men who follow Jesus need to be accountable to another man. I base this on my own experience and scripture.
Proverbs
27: 17 As
iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
By being accountable to another man we become more Spiritually sharpened. We find support as we head into battle against those things that can pull us away from God's way.
1 Corinthians 6: 18 So
run away from sexual sin. It involves the body in a way that no other
sin does. So if you commit sexual sin, you are sinning against your
own body. 19 You
should know that your body is a temple for
the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You
don’t own yourselves. 20 God
paid a very high price to make you his. So honor God with your body.
Being accountable to another man can help us flee when temptations come.
Galatians
6: 1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are
spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also
may be tempted."
James
5: 19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth
and someone brings him back,
Being accountable to another man will help us find restoration when we stumble.
So why accountability? Life and life more abundantly.
