Marked, Known, Greatness

This blog has been put on the shelf for a while but now I am restoring it. For my first post I have 2 questions for those of you who follow Jesus.

1. What is the mark that you have the Holy Spirit living in you?

2. What is it that Jesus said followers of His would be known by?

Oh wait, I have one more: What is the number 1 trait of a great leader?

If you can put a scripture with your reply that would be great.

Some churches say speaking in tongues is the mark that you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Some churches say followers of Jesus would be known by the number of people they bring to the Lord or the number of people they heal.

Some churches see a great leader as one who has built a large following and congregation.

I want to encourage you to search the Bible for the answers to these 3 questions. I think you might be surprised.

Why Accountability

I believe all men who follow Jesus need to be accountable to another man. I base this on my own experience and scripture.

Proverbs 27: 17  As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

By being accountable to another man we become more Spiritually sharpened. We find support as we head into battle against those things that can pull us away from God's way.

1 Corinthians 6: 18 So run away from sexual sin. It involves the body in a way that no other sin does. So if you commit sexual sin, you are sinning against your own body. 19 You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit that you received from God and that lives in you. You don’t own yourselves. 20 God paid a very high price to make you his. So honor God with your body.

Being accountable to another man can help us flee when temptations come.

Galatians 6: 1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted."

James 5: 19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back,

Being accountable to another man will help us find restoration when we stumble.

So why accountability? Life and life more abundantly.
